What is Astigmatism?

What is Astigmatism

Dr. Kovacs hears this question on a daily basis. Read on for everything you need to know about Astigmatism and how to treat it.

When is an eye exam, not an eye exam?

Wright Vision Care, LLCMany patients, when they call for their exam, will say, "I would like to schedule my eye exam." Which makes sense to our office staff. But sometimes the reason the patient called is that they have an eye 'problem' which needs to be diagnosed and treated. In this situation the 'eye exam' now becomes a 'treatment' or 'red eye' visit. Do they need an eye exam or should they be asking for something else?

Now taking appointments at Prairie Lakes!

Dr. Kovacs joined the Wright Vision team last summer at our Main Street Office. We are excited to announce she will now be seeing patients at our Prairie Lakes Office as well!

“Doctor, I have bugs in my eyes!”

When I was undergoing my optometry training and was examining patients in the clinic, I will never forget the words coming from a patient who had just walked in the door. She said, "Doctor, I have bugs in my eyes!" The patient was clearly in pain from what appeared to be a chemical burn in and around both of her eyes. This elderly lady, thinking she was actually seeing 'bugs' in her eyes, had mistaken them for a very commone eye condition called 'vitreous floaters'.
