Meet Dr. Clements

For Dr. Clements, eye care is very personal. When Dr. Clements was a junior in high school, he quit baseball because he couldn’t see theDr. Clements Wright Vision Care, LLC ball in the outfield anymore. It was one of his favorite sports. His team went on to win back-to-back state championships. Dr. Clements says a trip to the eye doctor would have kept him in the game. He says it’s this experience that drove him to pursue eye care. He doesn’t want anyone’s vision to be a reason for missing out on anything in life.

This led him to begin his pursuit of eye care at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa where he earned his BS in Biology. In 2009 he graduated with clinical honors from the Illinois College of Optometry. His eye care specialty is sports vision, Glaucoma management and contact lenses.

Dr. Clements joined our team at Wright Vision in 2012 and lives in the area with his wife.

He is part of the American Optometric Association and the Wisconsin Optometric Association.

You can schedule an appointment with Dr. Clements at either the Prairie Lakes Office or the Main Street Office.

Get to know Dr. Zarwell

Dr. Lisa Zarwell, Wright Vision Care, LLCDr. Zarwell lights up our office. She is equally caring as she is skilled in eye care. We love the passion she brings to our team and how faithfully she serves her patients.

She says she enjoys being an optometrist because, “it allows me to help people see better and feel better, which in turn, allows them to function at their highest level at home and at work.”

Dr. Zarwell graduated with a B.S. in Biology from Allegheny College, Meadville, PA and went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL. She completed her residency in cornea and contact lens at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Her particular eye care passions are fitting contact lenses and working with patient’s to meet their vision goals. She also has a deep interest and expertise in eye health as it relates to the patient’s systematic health. Patients with diabetes, hypertension and other systematic diseases require special instruction on how to keep their eyes healthy, a topic Dr. Zarwell is well-versed in and enjoys teaching.

She says there are two cases she will always remember. Both patients’ eye symptoms were what brought them into the office, but in the end, other underlying health conditions were the root of their problems. One patient had end-stage kidney failure and the other had increased pressure in the brain. These were truly examples of “the eyes being a window to the rest of the body.” It’s this type of lifesaving work that Dr. Zarwell is passionate about. Eye care is about more than just your eyes, it’s about your overall health.

We are so thankful to have Dr. Zarwell on our team. She books appointments at our Prairie Lakes Office and our Main Street Office. She would love to meet you so if you’re in the area, stop by and say hi!

Meet the Doctors – Dr. Gordon

He’s liable to show up in a Hawaiian shirt for staff pictures or drop the perfectly timed dry joke to get a chuckle from the staff team. But in all seriousness, when it comes to expert eyecare, Dr. Gordon is as good as it gets.

Born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, Dr. Gordon graduated from West High School and began his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin Madison. Only then did he leave his home state to complete his undergraduate and his Doctorate of Optometry at Ohio State University.

As soon as he completed his schooling at OSU, he came back to Madison to start practicing and has remained here ever since. He joined the team at Wright Vision Care, LLC in 1997. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Wisconsin Optometric Association.

When asked what gives him passion to continue caring for his patient’s eyes, Dr. Gordon said, “Seeing my patient’s appreciation when I help improve their vision is an irreplaceable feeling of satisfaction.”

Dr. Gordon lives in Madison with his wife Janet. They have three children Beth, Brady and Katherine. In addition to spending time with his family, Dr. Gordon loves playing golf and is excellent at woodworking.

We encourage you to say hi to Dr. Gordon the next time you’re in. While we are certain he’ll be able to answer all your eyecare questions, we’re also certain he’ll get a chuckle out of you at least once during your appointment.

As you can imagine, after more than three decades of eyecare, Dr. Wright has some stories to tell. Like this one:

“A patient came into my office complaining of very scratchy eyes, especially the right eye when she blinked. I examined her eyes and found many very small ‘hairs’ embedded in the inside of her right upper eyelid. It turned out that the hairs were from her pet tarantula! She even brought in a picture and he was the size of a full dinner plate!”

Dr. Wright not only practices in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin but lives there as well with his wife Lynda. He has two adult children, Stephanie and Joe and a golden retriever, Bailey. He loves biking, fishing, traveling, hiking, snowshoeing, boating and just about anything that involves soaking in the outdoors.
